Greetings Weyburn Thrasher Families!! The Weyburn Lacrosse Association is excited to announce that Registration for the 2026 Thrasher’s Box Lacrosse Season will be open January 11, 2026!!! 

We can’t wait to have you all back for another fun-filled Lacrosse Season.

REGISTRATION FAQ’s:

• Will there be a U5 Learning Lacrosse together Program?

YES!! The U5 Learning Lax Together Program will return to our Regular Season!! This program consists of 6 - 30 minute sessions held on a weekly basis. U5 are exempt from fundraising, and are here to have fun and fall in love with the game of Lacrosse!! Parents, please be ready to help your young athlete on the floor. A great way to create memories!!

• When are Practices and when do they start?

The season will start early April and run until late June. Our goal is for each age Division U7 to U17 will practice twice a week on consistent dates and times.  Practises will be held at Tom Zandee Sports Arena or Whitecap Resources Centre. 

U5- 1x 30 minute practise session - Once a week, to be organized closer to the season beginning.

U7- 2x 45 minute practice sessions - Twice a week, to be organized closer to the season beginning.

U9- 2x 1 hour practice sessions - Twice a week, to be organized closer to the season beginning.

U11- 2x 1.25 hour practice sessions - Twice a week, to be organized closer to the season beginning.

U13- 2x 1.25 hour practice sessions - Twice a week, to be organized closer to the season beginning.

U15- 2x 1.5 hour practice sessions - Twice a week, to be organized closer to the season beginning. 

U17- 2x 1.5 hour practice sessions - Twice a week, to be organized closer to the season beginning.

• Will there be tournaments?

*All teams can propose registration to Sanctioned tournaments as they see fit. Registration dependent on WLA and SLA approval.

*Weyburn will be hosting SSLL Playoffs June 19-21, 2026

*U11 to U17 teams will have the option to participate in the Saskatchewan Lacrosse League Box House Provincials. U11 TBA at a later date. U13 to U17 June 26-29, 2026 in TBA.

• Will there be U9 Friday Night Tykes?

We heard positive feedback from 2025, so we anticipate there will be!

• How much is Registration?

U5: $75.00

U7: $145.00

U9: $195.00

U11: $250.00

U13: $250.00

U15: $325.00

U17: $325.00

**Registration fees will see a slight increase from last season, fees help cover seasonal costs such as: all floor time, training for Team Staff, Officials compensation, Athlete Insurance, League fees and administrative costs for the season.

• Is there a Registration Deadline?

**The registration deadline for Age Divisions U11 to U17 March 15, 2026. Registrations received after this date are subject to $50.00 late fee. For Age Divisions U5 to U9 will not have registration deadline or late fee.  

• What is the ‘Fundraising Buyout’ Option available with registration?

Fundraising helps keep registration costs low for our families. The WLA is looking into a NEW fundraiser option for 2026, we are looking to organize a BBQ Package Raffle, athletes will be required to sell X amount of tickets which will be handed out at the start of the season. A fundraising buyout has been added as a package in addition to registration fees for families who do not wish to participate in the annual fundraiser. If your family is participating, please avoid this package in Registration. The fundraising buyout is due March 15^th.

• Will there be Registration for the Rattler’s Field Lacrosse Program?

We anticipate that the Rattler’s Field Lax season will take place in the fall again this season based on the success of last fall season. However, there will be opportunity for Field Festivals in the Spring!  Stay tuned for dates, we will announce a registration process late January.  Field Provincials will be October 2 & 3, 2026 hosted in Regina. 

• Is it mandatory to Purchase Thrasher Shorts with Registration?

No. We have noted that several families purchase these either with registration or throughout the season. We have set a Short Purchase deadline of February 15 to ensure shorts arrive prior to Regular season games. These shorts are offered at a discounted rate of $30.00 as they go in as a bulk order. Shorts purchased after this deadline are $35. We cannot guarantee sizing availability after February 15 deadline.
