2024 Box Lacrosse Registration is Now Open
Greetings Weyburn Thrasher Families!! The Weyburn Lacrosse Association is excited to announce that Registration for the 2024 Thrasher’s Box Lacrosse Season is NOW OPEN!!
We can’t wait to have you all back for another fun-filled Lacrosse Season.
****2024 Weyburn Thrasher Practice Schedule Update****
- U5 will have 6 weekly sessions of 30 minute practices on either Tuesday or Thursday; Athletes will have a choice of which date works best (Tuesday, Thursday, or either) and then groupings will be announced. Sessions start early to mid April.
- U7-U13 will Practice on Tuesday and Thursdays; Times TBA once rink availability is confirmed.
- U15 and U17 will Practice on Monday and Wednesdays; Times TBA once rink availability is confirmed.
- U7 to U17 Practices will start late March to Early April.

REGISTRATION FAQ’s:
- How do I register?
The WLA will be using RAMP online services for registration again this year. Please visit our website: www.weyburnlacrosse.ca to easily find the registration link.
- Will there be a U5 Learning Lacrosse together Program?
YES!! The U5 Learning Lax Together Program will return to our Regular Season!! This program consists of 6 - 30 minute sessions held on a weekly basis. U5 are exempt from fundraising, and are here to have fun and fall in love with the game of Lacrosse!! Parents, please be ready to help your young athlete on the floor. A great way to create memories!!
- When are Practices and when do they start?
The season will start in Mid to late March and run until late June. Each age Division U7 to U17 will practice twice a week on consistent dates and times (either Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs). With our growing numbers, a practice schedule will be released at a later date to ensure all teams have time and space.
U7- 2x 45 minute practice sessions.
U9- 2x 1 hour practice sessions.
U11- 2x 1.25 hour practice sessions.
U13- 2x 1.25 hour practice sessions.
U15- 2x 1.5 hour practice sessions.
U17- 2x 1.5 hour practice session.
- Will there be a Program for females this year?
YES! The WLA will be offering a Program specifically for Female athletes giving them an opportunity to develop and train together during the regular season. It will be offered on Sunday evenings. Please stay tuned for Registration details.
- Is there a Registration Deadline?
**For Age Divisions U11 to U17, please register before March 15th, to avoid a late registration fee of $50. These age divisions participate in the South Sask Lacrosse League, and we need to have our numbers in to create a League schedule. There is a fair bit of administrative work that can occur when numbers changes.
**For Age Divisions U5 to U9, there is no registration deadline.
- What is the ‘Fundraising Buyout’ Option available with registration?
Fundraising helps keep registration costs low for our families. The WLA plans to partake in the “Growing Smiles” fundraiser again. This year, a fundraising buyout has been added as a package in addition to registration fees for families who do not wish to participate in the annual fundraiser. If your family is participating, please avoid this package in Registration. The fundraising buyout is due April 15th.
- Will there be Registration for the Rattler’s Field Lacrosse Program?
Yes. We are currently in the planning phase for the Field season and will release Field Lacrosse Program details and registration as soon as these are finalized.
- Is it mandatory to Purchase Thrasher Shorts with Registration?
No. We have noted that several families purchase these either with registration or throughout the season. We will set a short purchase deadline to ensure shorts arrive prior to Regular season games. These shorts are offered at a discounted rate of $25.00 as they go in as a bulk order. Shorts purchased after this deadline are $30.
